Susan White

Susan J. White, 61, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on October 31, 2026, at Community Hospital in Indianapolis.

Susan was born on October 26, 1965, the daughter of Charles Denton and Linda (Roberts) Young. She attended Mt. Vernon High School and later worked various jobs throughout her career, including clerical positions at Schultheis Insurance and Danks & Danks, as well as working at Mead Johnson.

Susan was truly a social butterfly who loved being around people. She never passed up an opportunity to visit, share a laugh, or make someone smile. She had a special way of bringing laughter and happiness to those around her and genuinely enjoyed seeing others succeed and find happiness in life. Her family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and treasured every opportunity to spend time with. Susan also had a special love for babies and children and was always happy to babysit whenever she had the chance. Whether she was spending time with family, visiting with friends, making someone laugh, or caring for little ones, Susan found joy in being surrounded by the people she loved. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her caring heart, and the happiness she brought to so many.

She is survived by her children, Crystal (Jeremy) Hayden and Thomas (Kathrine) White; grandchildren, Gabriel Nunn, Gage Hayden, Oanna White, Hunter White, and Alana White; siblings, Brian Young, Rhonda Jones, Tammy (Brent) Stephenson, and Colett (Kenny) Meyers; her “Dad”, Thomas L. Young; aunt, Mary Keown; and stepmother, Sandra Denton.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at the Owen Dunn Post 5 American Legion.
