Special to the News The 2026 North Posey Hall of Fame will be held on January 24, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the main gym at North Posey High School. The individual inductees selected for this year are Emily Maier Stevens, Jennifer Donner Fribley, Tom Carl, Danny Jochim and Lester Seib. This year, two girls’ basketball teams will be inducted, the 1992-93 team and the 1993-94 team. Alcohol not involved in Posey teen’s death
Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham apologized to the family of a Cynthiana teen who was killed in a crash in November, after his initial report stated alcohol could have been a factor. Authorities investigated a deadly crash which took place on State Road 65 in Posey County on the morning of November 21, 2025. Mobley decides to chase new things
By Lois Mittino Gray At age 91, Chuck Mobley feels it’s time to hang up the leash on his job as Posey County’s Animal Control Officer. The spry senior said it is getting harder to wrangle the big dogs at his age. “If one of them gets wrapped around me on the leash, it gets harder to keep my balance and I don’t want to end up being on the ground,” he explained of his decision to retire as soon as his replacement is hired. “I’m ready to go,” he said with an easy grin.
