Patricia Stewart, 69, of Mt. Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born February 25, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Marce Oliver Stewart, Sr. and Betty Ann (Kirk) Stewart.

Known to many as “Granny Pat,” Patricia was a one-of-a-kind person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was known for her big personality, love of music, and ability to make the most of every moment. She enjoyed listening to her favorite tunes, having a good time with family, and making memories with the people she loved.

Above all, Pat treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love extended well beyond her own family, as children throughout the community knew they could always count on her for a safe place, a caring heart, and the warmth of another grandma. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved, and she will be remembered for the joy, laughter, and unforgettable personality she brought into their lives.

Patricia faced life’s challenges with strength and determination, rarely letting others see when she was hurting. She continued to find reasons to smile, enjoy life, and spend time with those who meant the most to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, PJ Stewart, Adrian Stewart, and Trish Stewart; her sisters, Evelyn Stewart and Marrisa Price; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Stewart; her brothers, Dennis, Matthew, Randy, Jesse, and Marce Jr. Stewart; and her sister, Sylvia Stewart.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Upton Road in Mt. Vernon, with Rev. Curt Mort officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery one hour prior to the service to share special memories and stories of Pat.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left at the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
