Rita E. McKinney

Rita E. Reich McKinney, 92, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away October 30, 2026 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born August 3, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, Ind., to the late Wilburn and Eunice (Allen) Jackson.

Rita graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. She was a lifetime member of Olive Chapel United Methodist Church prior to its closing. Rita enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and above all, her greatest joy was caring for her boys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father of her children, Russel Reich; second husband, Darrell McKinney; brothers, Darwin Jackson and Milburn Jackson; and sister, Venita Hanks.

Rita is survived by her sons, Bruce Reich (Marcia), and Brett Reich (Debbie); grandchildren, Brittany Lewis (Scott), Samantha Koch (Andrew), Caleb Reich (Kailey), and Austin Reich (Maegan); 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Donna Fuelling and Thresa Deig.

Services will be private.
