Rosaline Craig Mosby


Rosie “Gammy” Mosby, 91, of Evansville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital.

Rosie was born on February 2, 1935, in Ramsey, Ill., to the late Samuel and Velva (Moreland) Craig. She was a loving, devoted and giving mother and grandmother and sacrificed much of her time for her family. Rosie was like a second mom to many of her son’s friends as well. She was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and worked at Bernardin Bottle Cap for tens years before retiring from K-Mart after sixteen years of service there.

Surviving Rosie are her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sherry Mosby; granddaughter, Rachel Mosby, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Barb Mosby, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William “Bill” Mosby in 2016; by four sisters, Marian Wise, Virginia Chambers, Emerald Craig, and four brothers, Edward, Patrick, Hughie and Kenneth Craig.

Funeral services for Rosie will be held at 6 p.m., on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, Pastor Matt Watson officiating. Entombment will take place in Staint Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until service time on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 West Franklin Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at WoundedWarriorProject.org.
