Linda Jean James


Linda Jean James, age 51, of Mount Vernon, Ind., passed away on April 9, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 2, 1974 in Evansville, Ind., to, Henry and Mary (Greenwell) James.

Linda graduated from Mount Vernon High School and went on to work as a kitchen manager at McDonald’s, as well as for Dairy Queen and MedCo.

Throughout her life, she was supported and lovingly cared for by her sister, Bonnie, who became like a mother to her after the passing of their own mother. Bonnie remained a constant source of love and strength, standing by Linda through both the good times and the difficult moments, a bond that meant the world to them both.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Raymond Little.

Linda is survived by her sisters, Bonnie, Theresa, and Betty Little, Kay (Ed “Pop”) Nation, Sue Stallings, Judy (Robert) Saum and Lorene Brakie; brothers, Glenn (Patty) Little, Don (Debbie) Little and Frank (Sydney) Little; extra special nephews, Alex and Brady King; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Hannah Leonard.

A Funeral Service was held at 12 noon on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, Ind., with Pastor Johanna Sumner-Damme officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m., until 12 noon service time on Monday at the funeral home.
