Marjorie Ann (Seifert) Kissinger, 92 of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away on Saturday August 29, 2026, at home. She was born on July 17, 1934 to the late Wesley and Nora (Hostetler) Seifert.
Marge was a long-time member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon where she attended Sunday School, was a part of the Dorcus Women’s Fellowship and Immanuel’s Mission Team.
She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School Class of 1952 and was a devoted farm wife and worked along with her husband David on the farm for the majority of her married life. Marge loved fishing and spending time in Michigan and Florida with friends and family. She was also passionate about growing flowers, reading, knitting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to and greatly enjoyed attending a lively card group with longtime friends on Tuesdays.
She is survived by her four children, Tony Kissinger (Tina) of Mt. Vernon, Kim Kissinger Marino (Jerry) of St. Louis, Missouri, Tom Kissinger of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Julie Kissinger Foster of Jacksonville, Fla., and five grandchildren, Jessica Lawrence (Duane), Wesley Kissinger (Erica), Sarah Foster Reising, Sally Foster and Nora Marino and eight great-grandchildren: Emma, Fiona, Jase, Lanna, Maelee, Adelyn, Coralyn and Brooks. She is also survived by her sister Janice (Seifert) Deckard of Jacksonville, Fla. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband David C. Kissinger, her brother Marion Seifert and son-in-law Brian Foster.
Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Immanuel United Church of Christ on Ford Road in Mt. Vernon with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m., and burial at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Marge may be made to Immanuel UCC Cemetery in Mt. Vernon or to Immanuel United Church of Christ.
