Marilyn Jo Lackey, 85, of Chandler, passed away on March 9, 2026 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born on December 7, 1940 in Evansville to the late Edward and Eleanor (Kasten) Lafferty.
Marilyn attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She graduated from North High School in 1958. After graduation she married Lonny Lackey. Marilyn and Lonny owned and operated the Lakeview Inn in Chandler for 50 years. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, NASCAR, gambling, and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lonny Lackey; son, Michael Lackey.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Robin Higginbottom (Mark), John Lackey (Minan), and Charles Lackey (Tracey); grandchildren, Jamie Yarber (Troy), Jessica Rye (Donnie), Joseph Lackey (Kristin), Matthew Lackey (Camille), Sean Lackey (Taylor), Kylie Lackey, and Gunner Lackey; great grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Hunter, Hank, Grant, Bryson, Leo, June, and Walter; sisters, Pat Barnes and Jeannie Lafferty; daughter-in-law, Becky Lackey; longtime friends, Diane Underhill and Sue McGary.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 11 a.m. until service time at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Road, Chandler, IN 47610.
Funeral services began at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor Danny Barr officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery.
