Geraldine Seibert

Geraldine “Gerry” (Joeckel) Seibert, 94, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Gerry was born on July 6, 1931, to the late Walter and Anna (Happe) Joeckel on a farm on the west side of Evansville. She grew up loving animals of all kinds.

She and her husband, Francis “Hot Shot” Seibert, owned and operated Seibert’s Tavern in St. Wendel, Ind., in the 1960s. She enjoyed writing a weekly column in the Posey County Newspaper. She later worked for many years as a nursing assistant at Deaconess Hospital.

Gerry was a member of St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John in St. Wendel and the VFW Post 1114 Ladies Auxiliary in Evansville. She was a member of both St. Wendel Catholic Church and St. Agnes Catholic Church.

Surviving Gerry are two sons, David Seibert of Noblesville, Indiana, and Gary (Sandy) Seibert of Ft. Branch, Indiana; daughter, Beverly (Dennis “Dink”) Wagner, of Evansville; six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one step great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-one years, Francis “Hot Shot” Seibert; a son, Alan “Fuz” Seibert; daughter-in-law, Susan Seibert; and one step great grandchild.

Funeral services for Gerry were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lowell Will officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends visited with the family from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
