Barbara Jean Crumbacher

Barbara Jean (Cochrum) Crumbacher, 83, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away June 23, 2026, at her home. She was born June 11, 1943, in Evansville, Ind., to the late George and Goldie (Young) Cochrum.

Barbara was a 1961 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending services. Barbara loved collecting antiques, attending auctions, and spending time in the kitchen. She especially cherished family gatherings and being with loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tammy Koontz; granddaughter, Heather Boarman; and brother, Charles E. Mathias.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Crumbacher; son, Michael (Rita) Crumbacher; daughters, Laura (Lee) Boarman, Sarah (Chris) Pugh, Georgia Thomas; grandchildren, Bianca (Damian) Chism, Taylor (Morgan), Tanner, and Alicia Boarman, Anissa and Dalton Pugh, Jeán-Claude, and Harley Majors; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Rainey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

No services are being held at this time.
