Diana Mary Mayer

Diana Mary Mayer, 84, of Wadesville, Ind., born January 31, 1942, to Frank and Mary (Lasher) Bates in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away, Friday, June 12, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and children.

She loved playing her piano and was a faithful servant to the Lord. She loved praying the rosary, her loving husband, attending church, our lord and savior Jesus Christ and her entire family. She was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church and sang in the church choir for 40 years. She enjoyed canning, cooking and baking.

Surviving are her husband whom she married on November 4, 1961: Leo O. Mayer; sons: John, Oscar (Julie) and David Mayer; daughters: Maria T. Mangold, Regina E. Hahn, Christine M. Martin (Tom) and Shannon L. Mayer; nine grandchildren: Rachel (Steve), Lucas (Emily), Kayla, Cody (Elizabeth), Casey (Joseph), Derrick (Lauran), Tara (Kyle), Maxwell and Madelyn (Bryce); seven great grandchildren: Bella, Xander, Reese, Ruby, Heidi, Chett and Meradith.

Preceding her in death were her birth parents: Frank and Mary Bates; adoptive parents: Joe and Elenor Lasher; sister: Rita Schultheis and son-in-law: David Hahn.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at St. Wendel Catholic Church in St. Wendel, Ind., with burial following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the church.
