Dennis M. Ward

Dennis M. Ward, 78, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away on June 6, 2026, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind., with family members by his side.

Dennis was born on November 5, 1947, in Carmi, Ill., to Herman and Violet Ward. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Throughout his working years, Dennis was employed as a truck driver and painter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Marvel) Ward; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Lou Pierce and Don and Jenny McGrew; brothers, Rocky (Karen) Ward, Max Ward, Gary Ward, and Daryl Ward; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue Ward; and his brother, Larry Ward.

Dennis and Nancy were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Bellefontaine Cemetery, with Rev. Kevin Petty officiating. The Owen Dunn American Legion Honor Guard will perform military rites.
