David Paul Hancock

David Paul Hancock, 82, of Poseyville, Ind., passed away, Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at West River Health campus in Evansville, Ind.

David was born June 20, 1944, to Virgil Walter and Mildred Gertrude (Sanders) Hancock in Evansville, Ind.

He was a lifelong Posey County resident and a graduate of North Posey High School, Class of 1962. He was a farmer for many years and later worked for Tri-County Equipment where he delivered many tractors and combines in the area. He loved to talk about his road trips delivering farm equipment.

David loved all things “western” and enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour novels. He also enjoyed running, cycling and being outdoors.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years: Annette (Pate) Hancock; daughter Missy (Hancock) Naff of Spring Hill, Tennessee and brother Tom Hancock of Griffin, Ind.

Preceding him in death were his parents; children: Aaron David Hancock and an infant daughter (unnamed); siblings: Eugene Sanders, Dale Hancock and Mary (Hancock) Bailey.

A Celebration of Life was held Friday, September 25, 2026, 2 p.m., at St. Paul’s Global Methodist Church fellowship hall in Poseyville, Ind.
