David R. Devine

David R. Devine, 79, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab.

David was born on August 14, 1947, the son of Artie and Martha Devine. He married his sweetheart, Donna (Davis) Devine, in 1968, and they spent many wonderful years together before her passing in 2019.

David worked for Uniseal in Evansville for many years in the maintenance department. He was a true outdoorsman who based his life activities around two things he loved dearly: family first, followed closely by hunting and fishing. David cherished being outside and enjoying nature, and rarely could you find him indoors when there was an opportunity to be outside.

David was also the kind of person you wanted in your corner. He was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand, especially his family. He took great pride in helping others and being someone his loved ones could depend on.

David is survived by his daughter, Candace (Roy) Cameron; grandson, Cody (Carli Cates); sister, Becky Bowman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, Artie and Martha Devine; brother, Randall Devine; and brother-in-law, Charles Bowman.

A funeral service was held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 1 p.m., at Denning Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newlife Animal Rescue.
