Brenda Jenny

Brenda Jenny, 78, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, with her son by her side.

She was born on February 15, 1948, in Posey County, Ind., to Lee and Helen (Brand) Anderson.

Brenda enjoyed playing soccer when she was younger and always enjoyed staying active. She especially loved her Zumba workouts and going to the senior center, where she could socialize, stay active, and meet new people.

Family was very important to Brenda. She looked forward to visiting her son throughout the year and making trips to Norris City, Illinois, where she enjoyed spending time with him as well as his family. She had a special love for animals and adored her “grandpets,” Asa, Keelah, Duke, and Puss. Brenda also loved going to the beach, spending time with friends, and relaxing with a good action show or western on TV.

Those who knew Brenda will remember her for her kindness and the wisdom she was always willing to share. She cared deeply for the people in her life and had plenty of advice and life lessons to pass along. Her family will carry that wisdom, along with the many memories they shared with her, wherever life takes them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Melvin Anderson and a sister: Doris Davis.

Brenda is survived by her son: Samuel Lee Jenny III, and his wife, Katie E. Jenny; granddaughter: Kamille Johnson; sister-in-law: Susan Sauls; nephews: Robert Sauls and Richard Sauls; niece: Kate Klaus (Michael) and a great-niece: Jasmine Sauls.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 7, 2026 at Werry Funeral Home, in New Harmony, Ind., with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony, Ind.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Monday, September 7, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Pets at Risk, 907 E Main St., Carmi, IL 62821, in honor of Brenda’s love for animals.
