Barbara Jo Estes

Barbara Jo Estes, age 73, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away June 11, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 12, 1952 in Evansville, Ind., to the late Bob and Dorothy (Eller) Estes.

Barbara was a 1971 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She assisted at the family business, Western Auto Store in Mt. Vernon, until its closing. She later worked for General Electric and SABIC, dedicating a combined total of nearly 30 years to her career. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her close classmates on frequent outings and cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Roxie.

She will be remembered as a beautiful free spirit - a flower child at heart - who moved through life with love, kindness, and a peaceful soul.

She is survived by her son, Corey (Amber) Estes; grandchildren, Alaina and Ridley Estes; brother, Jim (Judy) Estes; niece, Valerie (Benson) Clark; and special cousin, Claudia Minor.

A private service will take place at a later date.
