Alfred Joseph “Joe” Hall, Jr., 84, of Norris City, Ill., passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion, Ill. He was born in McLeansboro, Ill., on April 17, 1942 the son of Alfred Joseph and Annalee (Morris) Hall. Joe married Iona K. Pearce on March 2, 1979. He retired as a farmer with Sailer Farms. Joe was a member of Cherry Street General Baptist Church in Carmi. He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting or mowing.
Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years, Iona; children, Tim Hall of Venice, Fla., Leanna Cruse of Henderson, Ky., Melissa (Tim) Whitaker of Henderson, Ky., Kim (Mark) Tate of Norris City and Cindy Mitchell of Carmi; 11 grandchildren, Derek (Tiffany) Hall, Matthew Sneed, Chrissy Smith, Jessica (Michael) Phillips, Brad (Jerica) Sneed, James (Tess) Hall, Jacob (Jocelyn) Sneed, Nicholas (Neali) Tate, Mylee Mitchell, Allie Mitchell and Waylon Tate; 22 great grandchildren; aunts Sue Estes of St. Louis, Mo., Mary Ann Morris of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; brothers-in-law, Daniel Pearce, David (Connie) Pearce, James (Debbie) Pearce; a special family friend, Tim Sneed and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Don Cruse, grandson, Steven Smith, uncles and aunts, Donald (Faye) Morris, Joe Morris, Ruby (Raleigh) Hamilton and sisters-in-law, Pearl (Carlis) Medley and Gail Pearce.
Funeral Services for Joe Hall, 84, of Norris City were held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2026 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial was in Enfield Cemetery in Enfield, Ill. Visitation was held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 11 a.m. until service time 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
