This was the only game of the week for the North Posey boys’ basketball team. Last Friday night, the Vikings played at home against the South Spencer Rebels. It was also a conference matchup between the two schools.

North Posey had their opportunities to control and possibly win this matchup. However, the Rebels were a little tougher beating the Vikings 52-46. With the loss, North Posey has now dropped two games in a row with their season record falling to three wins and ten losses. South Spencer improved their record to seven wins and eight losses.

On another note, when North Posey scores 50 or more points in a game. They are undefeated at 3-0. When the Vikings score under 50 points in a game, they are winless at 0-10.

In the first quarter, North Posey played well and even led at the end of the period by the score of 15-11. The second quarter was the gamechanger for North Posey. South Spencer’s defense held the Vikings to only five second quarter points. At the halftime break, the Rebels led 22-20.

The Vikings played a good third quarter by tying the game twice at 22-22 and 24-24. Then South Spencer maintained between a three-to-five-point lead for the remainder of the third quarter. North Posey only trailed by one point at 37-36 to end the third quarter.

Every time North Posey got within a point or two of South Spencer in the fourth quarter. The Rebels would extend their lead back up to five or six points. North Posey fell short at the end to lose this battle by six points.
