Vicki Lynn Downey

Vicki Lynn Downey, 76, of Wadesville, Ind., born July 3, 1950, to Lloyd Earl Travers and Sarah “Pauline” (Coburn) Travers-Dunigan in Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown in Evansville, Ind.

She graduated from North Posey High School in 1968. She worked for various floral companies as a floral designer and provided child care services for several families. She enjoyed making bandsaw boxes, stamp collecting, painting pumpkins, special edition hallmark ornaments, boating, classic cars, motorcycles, traveling and especially her grandkids.

Surviving are her husband: Jeffrey Downey; son: Matthew Downey (Kristy); daughter: Amber Fawn Downey-Lord (Josh); brother: Michael Travers (Joan); sister: Mickey Nottingham; aunt: Emily Elliott; seven grandchildren: Katlyn, Jacob and Kyle Downey, Alexander, Lucian, Jaxson and Donovan Lord along with nieces and nephews that she had a special bond, who remember her as “Mischievous Aunt Vicki.”

Preceding her in death were her parents; son: Kendall Downey and a sister: Paula Nelson.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2026 at Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Ind., with burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery near Wadesville, Ind.

Visitation was 1-5 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the funeral home.
