Barbara A. Papenmeier

Barbara A. (Beasley) Papenmeier, 92, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Bethel Manor.

Barbara was born in Nelson, Ky., on January 11, 1934, to the late Otis and Mary Magdalene (Felty) Beasley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Taking care of her grandchildren was one of Barbara’s favorite things to do. She was also an avid baker and loved to cook. Barbara was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, studied the Bible frequently, and worked for the Daughters of Charity in the dietary department.

Surviving Barbara are two daughters, Kathy Meredith of Sullivan, Ind., and Joanie (Gordie) Simmons of Evansville, Ind.; a son, Warren (Mary) Papenmeier Jr. of St. Philip, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Jason Breeze, Carrie Moorman, Ryan Simmons, Justin Simmons, Benjamin Meredith, Brandt Meredith, and Jonathon Meredith; 20 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Warren Papenmeier, in 2009; and by a grandson, Christian Papenmeier, in 2013.

There was a funeral service held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Memorial Baptist Church, 7810 Marx Road, Evansville, IN 47720, Reverend Bobby Cox officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends visited with the family from 3 until 7 p.m., on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 West Franklin Street, Evansville, IN 47712 or from 9:30 a.m., until service time on Tuesday at Memorial Baptist Church.
