Timothy L. Thomas

Timothy L. Thomas, 55, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born in Carmi, Ill., on May 14, 1970, the son of Toney Thomas, Sr. and Martha (Pryor) Clark.

Tim worked as a mechanic for many years, including a period of time at Ewings in Mount Vernon. He was a car enthusiast who loved drag racing and enjoyed working on cars in his free time. He also enjoyed fishing, a pastime he shared with his brother, Toney. Tim was a loyal friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tim is survived by his children, TJ and Taylor; his mother and stepfather, Martha and Sonny Clark; his stepmother, Sandy Thomas; his brother, Kerry Thomas; and his sister, Kasey Irby. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Toney Thomas, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Denning Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Thompsonville, Ill.. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m.
