Irma Louise Underwood

Irma Louise Underwood, 93, of New Harmony, Ind., born May 29, 1932 to Joseph and Eliza (Kincheloe) Peerman in New Harmony, Ind., has left her earthly home for heavenly places, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at her home in the Charles Ford Memorial Home, where she dearly loved and has resided for the past three years.

Surviving are her children: Neva Hays of Evansville, and Steve Underwood (Corrine) of Prescott Valley, Az.; grandchildren: Cara Huebner (Rob Chancy) of Evansville, Joe Underwood (Lynne) of Chandler, Az., and Billy Underwood (Andrea) of Cleves, Ohio; great grandchildren: Tristan Huebner (Bruce), and Brycen Huebner of Tulsa, Ok., Aiden and Rylan Huebner of Evansville, Addison and Ansley Underwood, Chandler, Az., and Theo Underwood, Cleves, Ohio; Sister: Lucille Naomi Allen, 100 years old of Carmi, Ill.; granddaughter: Meagan McLean; grandson Jasper Chancy of Owensboro, Ky.; greatgrandchildren: Caylie Anderson and Jett Anderson, Dumfries, Va., and Tyler Anderson, Prescott Valley, Az., and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were parents, her husband of 67 years: Ted Underwood; brothers: Bill, Elbert, Gene and John Peerman; nieces: Cindy Cowger and Nancie Duckworth and daughter-in law, Betty Underwood.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Werry Funeral Home in New Harmony, Ind., with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery near Wadesville, Ind.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2026 at the funeral home.
