Scott Alan Varner, 58, of Mount Vernon, Indiana, passed away on October 29, 2025. He was born January 5th, 1967, in Evansville, IN.
Scott was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who touched countless lives with his easygoing spirit and genuine heart. He shared his life with his wife, Laura Varner, and was an incredibly proud father to his sons, Benjamin Varner and Gavin (Jennah) Varner.
He is survived by his mother, Veronica Varner; brother, Brian (Angie) Varner; sisters, Tammy Varner and Melanie (Bill) Newman; and his beloved nieces and nephews — Anthony Guido, Amanda (Adam) Bennett, Wyatt (Jordan) Newman, Hannah Varner, Mackenzie Wade, Collin Varner, and Bryce (Shelby) Newman; along with several great nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Tom Varner, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kerney and Emily Hinkle.
For more than forty years, Scott was an integral part of Tom’s CB Car Audio, where he poured his talent and work ethic into every project. Beyond his work, he found joy in time spent with family and his favorite cuddle monster, Cooper, peaceful days at the Raben Retreat, and rounds of golf at CountryMark with his cousin Rodney Phillips, all moments that brought him laughter and connection.
Scott will be remembered most for his love of family — especially his boys — and for the warmth and kindness he showed to everyone around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave will live on in those who knew him.
There will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at denningfamilyfuneralhome.com
