Rebecca “Becky” Rae Versteeg, 44, of Wadesville, Ind., born March 9, 1981, to Ray and Donna (Palmer) Key in Harrisburg, Ill., passed away, Wednesday, October 29, 2025 near Evansville, Ind.

Becky was a talented crafter, loved taking trips to Gatlinburg to look for bears with Eric, and spent endless hours at various athletic complexes, supporting her kids throughout the years with a pride and love that was deep and unending. If you saw Becky and Eric together, you witnessed genuine true love at its finest. Their love for one another set an example that this world needs more of. Becky’s big love didn’t just apply to her family. She was also known for her compassion and generosity. As a nurse, she devoted her life to providing excellent care for others. Her loss has left an unimaginable hole in the hearts of all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband: Eric Versteeg; father: Ray Key; daughters: Gabby Palmer, Madison Versteeg and Taylor Knight; sons: Chris Palmer, Caleb Vaughan, Trent Versteeg and Alex Palmer; sister: Polly Palmer; mother-in-law: Vicky Versteeg; grandparents-in-law: Kip and Dolores East and a brother-in-law: Chris Versteeg.

Preceding her in death was her mother: Donna (Palmer) Key; step-mother: Debra Key and first husband: Steven Vaughan.

Celebration of life will be held from 3 until 6 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Poseyville Community Center in Poseyville, Ind.
