Rebeca C. Cram

Rebeca C. Cram, 94, of Mt. Vernon, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on May 29, 2026, and was reunited with her soulmate, David Cram, who preceded her in death in March of this year. Rebeca was born in Puerto Montt, Chile, the daughter of Luis Correa and Ida Correa-Schmeisser.

Rebeca met David while he was serving in the military, and the two later married and spent 73 wonderful years together.

Rebeca was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Mt. Vernon. She was also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy in life was being surrounded by her family and creating lasting memories with those she loved most. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, and sewing. She also loved being outdoors and spending time in her yard and garden.

Rebeca is survived by her children, David (Lessa) Cram, Elizabeth (Robert) Wise, Cindy (Chuck) Polage, and Maureen (Donnie) Beste; grandchildren, Dana (Jerry) Bishel, Christopher (Kasey) Wise, Jamie (Mark) Polage Lueder, Craig (Valerie) Polage, Brett (Emily) Polage, Layna (Kyle) Dickey, Cameron (Cassandra) Cram, and Sheldon Cram; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Avery Beste; and several brothers and sisters.

A private funeral Mass will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward the purchase of a memorial bench for David and Rebeca to be placed at Avery’s Place. Donations may be made to Maureen Beste, 1250 Old Plank Rd. S., New Harmony, IN 47631.
