Jacqulin Lee Mason

Jacqulin Lee “Jackie” (Niethammer) Benson Mason, 79, of Poseyville, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at her daughter’s home.

Jackie was born in Evansville, Ind., on July 8, 1946, to the late William and Juanita (Bogan) Niethammer. She attended Scott Grade School and graduated from Reitz High School in 1965. Jackie retired from Keller Crescent after 43 years of dedicated service.

Jackie was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and had most recently been attending St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Poseyville, Ind. After retirement, Jackie worked at Holiday World in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, where children often mistook her for the real Mrs. Claus.

Jackie had a servant’s heart and lovingly fostered many children later in her life. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and baking cakes, especially wedding and birthday cakes. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Benson Harvey (Chad); son, Joseph Samuel “Jody” Benson III; sisters, Diana Walters, Sondy DeMarco (Rose) and Cathy Berrong; brother, Jim Niethammer (Mickie); grandchildren, Jessica Arnold, Samantha Harvey, Hunter Harvey, McKenzie Benson, Benjamin Benson and Zeke Benson; great-grandchildren, Autumn Kaye McGillem and Kynslee Grace Judge; the father of her children, Joseph Benson Jr.; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jackie was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Lynn Benson in 1980; by her husband, Richard Mason in 2022; her parents; sister, Mary Jo Kingon; and brother, Bill Niethammer.

A celebration of Jackie’s life was held at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Beth Ann Cook officiating.

Friends visited from 2 p.m., until service time on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Browning Funeral Home.
