Katoya Ann Gresham


Katoya Ann Gresham, “Toy” to most of her friends, 61, of Poseyville, Ind., passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on May 22, 2026. Born in Evansville, Ind., on June 12, 1964, Katoya lived a life full of laughter, personality, and love for her family.

Katoya loved bingo in her younger years, spending time talking with her grandchildren. She was known for her gregarious personality, her unforgettable sense of humor, and her lifelong talent for attracting quirky people and unforgettable stories. She lived life unapologetically, in her own way, and left an impression on everyone who met her.

Though her families’ hearts are heavy, they find comfort in the memories, laughter, and stories she leaves behind.

Katoya is survived by her brother: Mark Gresham; daughters: Tiffany Rister, Stephanie Williams (Stephen) and Whitney Wimber; two grandchildren: Liberty Rister and Katie Williams: niece: Destiny Gresham along with great nieces and nephews: Ryder, Presley, Paisley and Elenor.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Sharon (Brunson) Gresham; father: Larry Gresham and her grandmother and grandfather: Lillie and Arthur Gresham; cousin: Tammy Synder as well as several close friends over the years.

Graveside services were held 11 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2026 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville, Ind.

In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to local charities in Katoya’s memory.
