Harold ‘Butch’ Kester

Harold Butch Kester Jr., known to many as Butch, who was born on March 31, 1968, and died on August 23, 2026, will be remembered with deep love and gratitude for the kindness, strength, and devotion he shared with everyone who knew him.

He lived his life with a generous spirit and a caring heart, always ready to help others in times of need. Those who were blessed to know him will remember him as a devoted caregiver who gave of himself freely and without hesitation. His compassion was one of his greatest gifts, and it touched family, friends, and all who came into his life. He had a way of making others feel seen, supported, and valued, and that gift will remain part of his legacy.

Harold was a beloved partner to Jason Lisanby, and their bond was one of love, loyalty, and companionship. Together they shared a life built on trust, understanding, and devotion. Jason was a constant presence in Harold’s life, and their relationship reflected the deep affection and commitment that brought comfort and joy to both of them. The love they shared will continue to be cherished and remembered always.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Kester Sr., and Martha Kester, both of whom held a special place in his heart throughout his life. Their memory remained important to him, and he carried forward the values of family, resilience, and care that they helped instill. Harold’s life was also enriched by the love of his sisters, Tes, Jenny, and Susie, who shared in his journey and will forever hold his memory close as well as many nieces and nephews.

Harold is also lovingly remembered by his cousins, Cindy and many others, who were part of the family circle that surrounded him with connection and support. He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Helen and Harold Heath, both deceased, Sue and the late Donny Stallings, Everlyn and the late John Stallings, and Aunt Linda and her husband Rick Word. These family ties were an important part of his life, and he valued the closeness and history they represented. The bonds of family were meaningful to Harold, and he remained connected to those relationships throughout his life.

Those who knew Harold will remember his warm presence, his steady nature, and the sincerity with which he approached others. He had a special ability to offer comfort without judgment and to show care in practical, meaningful ways. His heart was especially evident in the way he looked after others, often placing their needs before his own. This selfless spirit defined much of who he was and left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to receive his kindness.
