Andrew ‘Andy’ Joseph Bender

Andrew “Andy” Joseph Bender, 41, of Poseyville, Ind., born January 31, 1985, to Alan Don and Susan “Susie” Marie (Schneider) Bender in Evansville, Ind., passed away, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He graduated from North Posey High School in 2003 and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a 10 year 4H member who enjoyed showing cattle, loved riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, shooting rifles, nightly drives to friends’ houses, and sitting in the sunlight.

For the past 24 years, he carried the weight of his accident with incredible acceptance and grit. He did everything he could to live life to the fullest. He was the fun uncle who brought endless laughter and joy to his nieces, nephews and to everyone around him.

Surviving are his parents; siblings: Zachary Bender (Rebecca), Emily Abbott (Eric), Lukas Bender (Debra) and Patrick Bender; nieces and nephews: Ellery, Easton, Emma, Molly, Levi, Anthony and Morgan; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There was a Mass of Christian Burial held 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, Ind., with burial following in St. Francis Cemetery near Poseyville, Ind.

Visitation was 2-7 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2026 with a Rosary/Memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Ind.
