NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

At the City of Mount Vernon, IN Common Council meeting held on October 7, 2026, the Common Council acknowledged receipt of seven amendments to the Posey County Uniform Development Ordinance, (the “Amendments to the UDO”). Prior to the adoption, rejection, or amendment of the Amendments to the UDO, the Common Council of the City of Mount Vernon, Indiana (“Council”) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Mount Vernon City Hall, 520 Main Street, Mount Vernon, Indiana, 47620. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on the proposed Amendments to the UDO. Written comments concerning the proposed Amendments to the UDO filed with the Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Mount Vernon, IN, 520 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620 prior to the hearing will be considered at the hearing. A full copy of the Amendments to the UDO are on file at the Office of the Posey County Area Plan Commission, 126 E. 3rd St., Room 132 , Mt. Vernon, IN 47620. A copy of the recommendations of the Posey County Area Plan Commission regarding the Amendments to the UDO are on file with the City of Mt. Vernon Clerk-Treasurer. The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
