Virginia A. (Goldbach) Chase, 95, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 at home surrounded by her family.
Virginia was born on October 9, 1930, in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Margaret Rose (Folz) and Alfred John Goldbach. Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was a very active throughout the diocese. She had a passion and gift for restoring religious statues and used her talents for the glory of God. Virginia was highly supportive of the priests throughout the world. Virginia was an exceptionally devout person who strived daily to lead people to Jesus. She also had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. There are so many wonderful things that could be said about Virginia that are too numerous to list.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Terry Coffee of Evansville, IN and Jan Milburn of Evansville, Ind.; son, Bradley Chase (Shirley) of Cunningham, Tenn.; brother, Tommy Goldbach (Linda) of Mount Vernon, Ind.; 7 grandchildren, Kenneth “KC,” Kim, Tracee, Travis, Kelly, Ben, and Codi; 16 great-grandchildren, Heather, Darren, Kevin, Jacob, Klarissa, Breana, Hunter, Linus, Felix, Hanno, Simon, Ilva, Samuel, Dominick, Elijah, and Noah; and four great-great grandchildren, Madalyn, Anthony, Mason, and Alex.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her son; Gary Chase; sisters, Helen Arrick and Emily Cannon; brothers, Paul, Lawrence, Charles and Maurice Bernard Goldbach; grandson, Gary Joseph Chase, Jr.; and her 2 great granddaughters, Elizabeth Marie Austin and Kaitlyn Rose Milburn.
A Mass of the Resurrection was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Road, Evansville, IN 47710, with Father Jason Gries celebrating. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends visited from 2 until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, Ind. 47711 where a Rosary was held at 6:30 p.m.
Friends visited from 9 a.m. until Mass time on Wednesday at the church.
