Patrick M. Poag

Patrick M. Poag, 65, of Wadesville passed away comfortably in his home on the 23rd day of March 2026.

Born June 11, 1960, in Oceanside, Calif., to Don and Bernice Poag he transplanted to the area in his teens where he attended North Posey High School and excelled in both track and football. Later in life he obtained his associate degree from Purdue University and turned an IT hobby into a career becoming a senior analyst for Ascension Health.

Pat was well-known in his community for his quick wit, generosity, and affinity for good natured pranks. He was most comfortable with a barely legal bottle of single malt and a not so legal cigar while he was grilling too much food. He loved being surrounded by family and friends whether that be on the volcanic rock of Bon Aire, one of the many garages down the road, or the canoe trips in the Ozarks. His absence will leave a void in many.

Patrick is survived by his daughter, Nicole Sisson (Ryan), his son, Joshua Poag, and his grandchildren Landon, Breanna, and Kinsey Sisson. Pat was one of eight children, Don Poag Jr., Steve Poag (Kim), Beth Bryant (Mark), Kelly Tenbarge (Tim), Harold Poag and William Poag (Christie) along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Bernice Poag, and his brother, Ed Poag (Bonnie).

To honor Pat’s request, there will be no service. A community celebration of life will be held at a later date.
