Viking golf finishes second in triangular at Cambridge

Last Monday afternoon, at Cambridge Golf Course, the Viking boys golf team took second place in a triangular match. Gibson Southern won as a team with a low score of 162 shots. North Posey placed second at 170 shots, and Evansville Mater Dei in third place with a team total of 175 strokes. The junior varsity Titans also defeated the Vikings 176-210.

North Posey Senior Ethan Bittner won on Senior Night as the match medalist, shooting a 37 on the nine-hole course. Also scoring well tonight for the Vikings was Josh Freeman, who had a personal best 42.

Freeman was followed by Camden Koester, who shot 44, and Porter Seibert, who carded a 47. Reid Kihn matched Seibert’s 47, and the other senior, Ashton Smitha posted a 52 on the evening.

North Posey wants to thank both of their Senior golfers for their leadership during this season of transition in the Viking golf program.

Last Thursday night from Fendrich Golf Course in Evansville. The Viking boys golf team competed against the Evansville Bosse Bulldogs in a dual match on a nine-hole par 35 course. Not only did North Posey dominate this contest, but Ethan Bittner also won his second straight match being the medalist with a low score of 35 shots to score an even par on the course.

North Posey beat Evansville Bosse in the team scores 153-204. The Vikings had all six golfers finish ahead of Bosse’s top player at this dual competition. Camden Koester and Reid Kihn tied for second place with each scoring 38 shots. Josh Freeman finished fourth with 42 shots. Porter Seibert and AJ Brady tied for fifth place with each having 43 shots.
