Sue Ann Maricle


Sue Ann (Dial) Maricle, 87, of New Harmony, Ind., passed away Sunday August 9, 2026 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind.


She was born on April 6, 1939 in Hamilton County, Ill., to George and Alberta (Wisely) Dial and was raised by Ornal “Hayward” and Alberta Fuqua.

She graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1955 and always considered herself a “Fox.” She married Roscoe Lee Maricle on April 17, 1962 and lived in Ft. Benning, Ga., where Rock was stationed in the US Army. They eventually made their way to New Harmony, Ind., where they would live out the rest of their lives.


After Rock’s passing in 1981, Sue worked for the Charles Ford Memorial Home in New Harmony as the Activities Director. After retirement her main focus became taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was passionate about shopping and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. She has attended First Baptist Church in New Harmony for over 30 years and was a member of Ashland Christian Church in Mill Shoals, Ill.


Sue was proceeded in death by her grandmother, who helped raise her, Laura Wisely; her parents; Hayward and Alberta Fuqua; her husband: Roscoe Maricle; her brother: Arthur “Junior” Fuqua; brothers-in-law: Chester, Gary and Jack Maricle and Joe Loyd; Sisters-in-law: Gloria Maricle and Patricia Fuqua.


She is survived by her daughter: Susan Trembczynski (Larry) of New Harmony; her son: Jeff Maricle (Maia) of Evansville; Granddaughter: Sara Trembczynski (Seth Beckwith) of Evansville; Grandsons: Aaron Trembczynski of New Harmony, Cole Maricle of Evansville and Mason Maricle of Evansville; great grandsons: Jaxx and Luca Beckwith of Evansville; sisters-in-law Alice Maricle and Marty Loyd, both of Carmi, Ill.; Nieces: Kim Cravens, Tammy Coale, Lacy Eck, Tisha Malone and Wendy Wells; nephews: Allen and Todd Maricle and Cory Fuqua; and numerous other cherished family and friends.


Funeral services will be held 11 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in New Harmony, Ind., with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery near McLeansboro, Ill.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Thursday August 13, 2026 at the First Baptist Church.
