Ronald G. Gansman

Ronald G. Gansman, Sr, 83, of rural Evansville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Deaconess Hospital Midtown Campus.

Ronnie was born on September 17, 1942, in Elberfeld, Ind., to the late Edward and Josephine (Ritzel) Gansman. He served his country in the Army National Guard and worked at Mesker Steel and Accuride before retiring from the west side Lowe’s in 2003. Ronnie was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, the St. Philip Men’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling with his family.

Surviving Ronnie are his wife of 60 years, Jean (Weyer) Gansman; sons, Ronald Gansman, Jr., Allen (Julie) Gansman, and Gary (Gwen) Gansman; sisters, Carolyn Wolfe, Betty (Carl) Rexing, Marilyn Maroni, and Barbara Paul; brothers, James Gansman and Gene (Janie) Gansman; and grandchildren, Alexis (Dawn Reidford) Gansman, Alison (Isaac Parmenter) Gansman, Libbyanne Gansman, Grant Gansman, and Ashlyn Gansman.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Gansman; by sisters, Dorothy Grace and Margaret Boyd; and brothers, Harold, Paul, and Bernard Gansman.

There was a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Nick Biever officiating. Burial followed in the St. Philip Church Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will conduct military rites.

Friends visited with the family from 9:30 a.m., until service time on Tuesday at St. Philip Catholic Church, 3500 St. Philip Road, S, Mt. Vernon, IN.
