Sherry Ann Butsch

Sherry Ann (Mann) Butsch, 93, of Evansville, Ind.., passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.

Sherry was born in Evansville, Ind., on December 31, 1932 to the late Lewis Mann and Genevieve (Howell) Mann Sorbom. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1950, and that same year began her insurance career with Lukens and Sons, retiring from Acordia in 1998. Sherry volunteered at Saint Mary’s Hospital and was active in the auxiliary. She was a member of the Boys and Girls Club Service League. Sherry enjoyed watercolor painting, drawing, collage, reading, exercising, and playing clabber with her card clubs, as well as “lunch friends.” She was a faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Sherry is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Scott Steele of Mount Vernon, Ind.; grandchildren, Matthew and Abby; several nieces, great nieces, as well as “dear friends”, Karen Long Miller, her card club, Artful Women and school group.

Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband in 1960, Billy Rae Butsch.

A celebration of Sherry’s life was held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711 with the Pastor David Wiist officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends visited from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Browning Funeral Home.
