Ruth Ann Lang

Ruth Ann (Boerner) Lang, age 84, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away July 11, 2026 at West River -Legacy Health Campus in Evansville. She was born March 9, 1942 in Evansville, Ind., to Carl and Albertha Flora (Bosecker) Boerner.

Ruth Ann attended West Franklin Grade School and was in the last class to graduate from there. She was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. After graduating, Ruth Ann worked at Bernadin, SIGECO for nine years, as well as part-time at the Posey County Extension Office, Black Rock International, and Mead Johnson. She was a lifelong member of Salem Church of Heusler where she was baptized on May 3, 1942, and confirmed on April 3, 1955. With her time with the church, she served as a diaconate member and was on the church council. Ruth Ann was a member of the Jolly Housewives Home Ec Club, Posey County Community Center, Two Rivers Camping Club, and the Clabber Club. She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, making artistic crafts, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 64 years, Bill Lang; daughter-in-law, Katy Lang; and siblings, Janet DeVelvis and Gerald Boerner.

Ruth Ann is survived by her sons, John Lang (Rose), and Tom Lang; grandchildren, Kendal Keith (Justin), Kyle Lang (Hadlee), Hannah Lang (Jacob Hipp), Kelsey, and Shelby Lang; great-grandchildren, Bennett, Walter, and Grant Lang, and Caroline Keith; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Salem Church of Heusler, 11325 Lower Mt. Vernon Rd., Evansville, IN 47712, with Rev. Al Schmitz officiating and burial to follow in Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m., until 1 p.m., service time on Wednesday at the church.
