Rosa Marie Yellig, 65, of Evansville, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Rosa was born on May 1, 1961, in Carmi, Illinois to Eleanor (Schorr) McRae and the late Wesley McRae. She worked as a drafting engineer at 3I Design. Rosa enjoyed crochet and loved the water. She taught all of her grandchildren to swim and to crochet. She also loved cooking and baking, but most of all she just loved life.
Surviving Rosa are her children, Dusty (Larry) Woodard, Steven (Bridget) Brown, and Jennifer Shadrick; her mother, Eleanor McRae; sisters, Twana (Rick) Karns and Lesley (Steve) Nieble; grandchildren, Oston, Justice, Steven, Bryan, Jazmine, Alyssa, Sadie, Dakota, Addilyn, and Kinnley, and three great grandchildren, Luna, Oliver, and Liam.
Funeral services for Rosa were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating. Burial took place in Zion Lippe UCC Cemetery.
Friends visited with the family from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
