Rick D. Wasson

Rick D. Wasson, 71, of Benton, Ill., formerly of New Harmony, born March 18, 1955, to Gene and Helen (Mathew) Wasson in Evansville, Ind., passed away at 3:35 a.m., September 25 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Ind.

Rick worked at the family business, Wasson Oil Company, later he worked at General Electric in Mt. Vernon for 26 years. After leaving GE he went to work at Rend Lake College. In his earlier years he loved to play softball with his friends. Since moving to Benton, he loved to play golf, he even scored a hole in one on the No. 4 hole at Benton Golf Course, a few years ago.

Rick is survived by his daughter: Amanda Ipock (Stacey) of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; grandson: Bobby Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; a sister Debbie Lyke of New Harmony; nephews: Brent (Kelly) Lyke and John (Tammy) Lyke and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends in Illinois and Indiana.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Benton.
