Kim Marie Ripple

Kim Marie (LaFond) Ripple, age 55, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., passed away September 28, 2026 at her home surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1971 in Watseka, Ill., to Rich and Sandy LaFond.

Kim graduated from Donovan High School in Donovan, Ill. She furthered her education by attending Eastern Illinois University for two years before graduating from Campbell University in North Carolina.

In 2005, she started working for the MSD of Mt. Vernon, where she began as a substitute teacher before becoming a library assistant at West Elementary School. Kim was a dedicated and loving mother who loved her boys and family fiercely. Her newest role as a grandmother to Jude was her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with him.

Kim was a wonderful cook and baker who found great joy in preparing delicious meals and special treats for her family. She was also a devoted friend with a bubbly, fun-loving personality that brought laughter and happiness to everyone around her. Kim was a member of Point Township Church of the Nazarene. Her love, laughter, kindness, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Ross Ripple and many grandparents.

Kim is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Aaron Ripple; sons, Luke (Jenna) Ripple and Wade (Lauren) Ripple; grandson, Jude Ripple; parents, Rich and Sandy LaFond; mother-in-law, Eugenia Ripple; brother, Keith LaFond; sister, Lori (Rolf) Richardson; brother-in-law, Loren (Tana) Ripple; sister-in-law, Beverly Ripple; nieces and nephews, Kayla (Tom) Murphy, Megan (Devin) Sievert, Rendy Ripple, Gerri Ripple, Lauren (Jeremy) Ransom and Michael Eckhoff; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN 47620 with Pastor Bryan Thompson officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, October 2, 2026 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Beaverville, Ill.
