Pamela Jo O’Risky


Pamela Jo O’Risky, 72, of Mount Vernon, Indiana, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Ascension in Evansville on March 26, 2026.

Pam was born on March 23, 1954, to Charles and Louise Allen of Calvert City, Kentucky. She attended North Marshall High School and graduated from the University of Southern Indiana (formally ISUE). She is the wife of Michael Paul O’Risky, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

Pam dedicated her career to education, teaching in the MSD of Mount Vernon for over 40 years. She was deeply committed to her students and her profession, serving as an eLearning coach and STEM advisor since leaving the classroom, continuing to inspire and guide young minds. Pam also served as an adjunct professor at PLS Third Learning and the University of Southern Indiana, helping teachers incorporate computer learning in the classroom. Pam loved antiques and quilting—time spent with friends quilting was heaven on earth to her. Pam’s black lab, Bart, was a patient companion, often covered in thread snips.

She is survived by her devoted husband, her loving son, Bryan Michael O’Risky and his wife, Sarah (Grabert) O’Risky, of Mount Vernon, and their son, her cherished grandson, Joel Michael O’Risky. She is also survived by her brother, Randy Allen, his wife, Gail, and her sister, Connie (Allen) Harden and her husband, Mike. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Allen.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street in Evansville, Indiana. Friends visited with the family from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Pierre Funeral Home.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Calvert City Church of Christ in Calvert City, Ky. Friends visited with the family from noon until service time on Tuesday at Calvert City Church of Christ.

Interment followed at Marshall County Memorial Gardens in Benton, Kentucky. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
