Lester Emil Weiss

Lester Emil Weiss, 98, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026.

Lester was born in Mount Vernon, Ind., on May 21, 1927 to the late Louis and Amelia (Bohleber) Weiss.

He was a welder by trade and a woodworker by avocation. He always loved sports, playing semi-professional baseball in the 40’s and 50’s and coaching youth sports in the 60’s and 70’s. Lester was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Lester is survived by his children, Valerie Weber (Robert), Tom Weiss (Jan), Kevin Weiss, Jon Weiss (Lois) and Kathleen Guerrero (Martin), his brother, Melvin Weiss (Lorraine) and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Merilyn (Rabe) Weiss, sister, Juanita Weiss and brothers, Robert Weiss and Shirley Weiss.

A private graveside service will be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery.
