Gordon Earl Ball, 94, of Evansville, passed away peacefully at the Heart to Heart Hospice House on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Gordon was born in Hearst, Ontario, Canada on June 2, 1932, to the late James Frederick and Annie (Dennett) Ball. He worked as the service manager in an auto repair shop and served in the Canadian Navy. He moved to the Evansville from his home in Canada to Evansville to marry his loving wife, Kathy Wessel. While in Evansville, Gordon became an active part of the community and was a member of the Riverbend Association, AMVETS Post 84, the Eagles and Twin Towers.
Surviving Gordon are his wife, Kathy Wessel; daughter, Linda Nasso; son, Gary Ball; stepdaughter, Kristi (Scott McCormick) Straub; a sister, Doreen (Benny) Adair; grandchildren, Robert (Ashley) Nasso and Michael Nasso, three grandchildren, Erika Bullock, Alexa Weinzapfel, and Raice Straub and great grandchildren, Bristol, Blake and Willow.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ball and by his sisters.
According to Gordon’s wishes there will not be any public visitation or funeral services. He will be cremated.
Gordon’s family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Heart to Heart Hospice for all of their kind and compassionate care and Gordon’s brother-in-law and his wife, Ronnie and Linda Vaughn, for all of their help and support.
