NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT

OF SEWAGE WORKS RATES AND CHARGES

OF THE TOWN OF NEW HARMONY, INDIANA

Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the sewage works of the Town of New Harmony, Indiana (the “Town”) are hereby notified that at the July 21st, 2026, meeting of the Town Council of the Town (the “Council”), the Council introduced a proposed amendment to the current rates and charges for the Town’s sewage works utility pursuant to Ordinance No. 2026-3 (the “Rate Ordinance”). The Council will hold its public hearing on October 6th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (local time) at Town Hall, 520 Church Street, New Harmony, Indiana 47631, to receive public input on the proposed Rate Ordinance authorizing the sewage works rate amendments and will consider adoption thereof at such time. For further information regarding the proposed Rate Ordinance, please contact Ann Huelsmann, Clerk-Treasurer, at (812) 682-4846. The schedule of fees which are more fully set forth in the Rate Ordinance and will be discussed at the public hearing are as follows:

Metered Flow Rates (per 1,000 gallons):

First 5,000 Gallons $ 16.80

Next 35,000 Gallons 13.15

Next 60,000 Gallons 11.21

Next 100,000 Gallons 9.42

Over 200,000 Gallons 7.40

Monthly Minimum Charge: $ 74.76

Unmetered Users (Monthly Flat Rates):

Normal User $ 74.76

Moderate User 298.63

High User 746.77

At the October 6th, 2026, meeting of the Council and prior to final adoption of the Rate Ordinance, any property owners, ratepayers or anyone else interested in the proceedings may appear and be heard concerning the proposed rates and charges. The hearing may be adjourned if necessary. A complete copy of the Rate Ordinance may be reviewed at the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer, Town Hall, 520 Church Street, New Harmony, Indiana 47631 and at the hearing.
