NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT

OF WATERWORKS RATES AND CHARGES

OF THE TOWN OF NEW HARMONY, INDIANA

Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in or served or to be served by the waterworks of the Town of New Harmony, Indiana (the “Town”) are hereby notified that at the July 21st, 2026, meeting of the Town Council of the Town (the “Council”), the Council introduced a proposed amendment to the current rates and charges for the Town’s waterworks utility pursuant to Ordinance No. 2026-4 (the “Rate Ordinance”). The Council will hold its public hearing on October 6th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (local time) at Town Hall, 520 Church Street, New Harmony, Indiana 47631, to receive public input on the proposed Rate Ordinance authorizing the waterworks rate amendments and will consider adoption thereof at such time. For further information regarding the proposed Rate Ordinance, please contact Ann Huelsmann, Clerk-Treasurer, at (812) 682-4846. The schedule of fees which are more fully set forth in the Rate Ordinance and will be discussed at the public hearing are as follows:

Metered Flow Rates (per 1,000 gallons):

First 4,000 Gallons $ 10.96

Next 35,000 Gallons 9.72

Next 60,000 Gallons 9.19

Next 100,000 Gallons 8.32

Next 199,000 Gallons 7.88

Monthly Minimum Charges:

Inside Town Limits $ 43.84

Outside Town Limits 53.55

Monthly Flat Rates:

Hotels and Motels (per Guest Room) * $ 19.71

Unmetered Residential Users 43.84

*If the hotel or motel is metered and the actual metered rate is greater than the established flat rate for a particular month, then the hotel or motel shall pay the actual metered rate for that month instead of the established flat rate.

At the October 6th, 2026, meeting of the Council and prior to final adoption of the Rate Ordinance, any property owners, ratepayers or anyone else interested in the proceedings may appear and be heard concerning the proposed rates and charges. The hearing may be adjourned if necessary. A complete copy of the Rate Ordinance may be reviewed at the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer, Town Hall, 520 Church Street, New Harmony, Indiana 47631 and at the hearing.
