Vikings to celebrate 60th year

The 60th anniversary of North Posey’s one and only boy’s basketball Sectional Championship to be celebrated at halftime of the Viking’s Homecoming game on Friday, February 20th.

Sixty years ago this spring a gallant team of North Posey Vikings set sail in the Princeton Sectional with a passionate desire for victory in their hearts, minds and souls…unwilling to settle for anything less.

By closely following Coach Pittman’s offensive adjustments and tightening down on their defense the Vikings avenged two regular season defeats on their way to an exciting Championship game victory to claim the school’s first basketball Sectional Championship.

The victory celebration was immense, immediately followed by the very first ‘fire truck ride’ throughout the Viking community.

On Friday, February 20, in addition to Homecoming festivities North Posey will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of that Championship by honoring the players, coaches, cheerleaders and the administration at halftime of the varsity game.

The varsity game will start after Homecoming festivities conclude following the JV game.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and help give these Vikings a rousing celebration.
