Marilyn Jean Whelan

Marilyn Jean Whelan, 82, of Evansville, Ind., passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026.

She was born on September 21, 1944, in Princeton, Ind., to the late Effie Evelyn (Hanes) and F.H. Whelan.

She graduated from New Harmony High School. Marilyn was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping, and cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially gathering together for meals and enjoying good conversation.

Marilyn was a member of Bethel Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed participating in two church mission trips.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darrell Whelan; and sisters, Delores Rausch and Sharon Goff.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Bernice (Allen) Augustus; three grandchildren, Olympia, Kayla, and Jonathan; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Carl) Isbell, Norma Stahlhut, Karen Donner, Tanya Whelan, and Donna Whelan; brother, Fred (Bea) Whelan; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at Alexander North Chapel.
