Keck Gonnerman Membership Meeting

Keck Gonnerman Antique Machinery Association will have their November membership meeting on Thursday, November 5 at 7 p.m. at the Keck Gonnerman building at the Posey County fairgrounds.

Longaberger Basket Bingo

MVHS Student Council Glow 5K

MVHS Student Council will have a night Glow 5K on November 6 at 5:30 at Brittlebank Park. This is a fundraiser for the annual All In Christmas Project.

MVCC Black’s Chapel Chicken Dinner

Black’s Chapel will host their annual chicken supper on Saturday, November 7 from 4-7 p.m. Adult meals are $15 and children 4-10 $7. Carry out will be available

Marrs Elementary Chili Cookoff

Marrs Elementary will have a chili cook off on November 8 from 1-3 p.m. There will be outside dining or carry out available. Chili will be $30 for a gallon. Inflatables, games, music and more for all ages to enjoy. Proceeds benefit Marrs students and staff.

New Harmony Blues Festival

Thrall’s Opera House will host a weekend of blues November 6 and 7 at 6 p.m. featuring Ruth Wyand on Friday and Eden Brent on Saturday. Sunday, November 8, will be Peter Rowan at 4 p.m. Contact newharmonybluesfestival.org for tickets and more information.

PC Historical Society/DAR to plant tree

The last event of the USA 250th Celebration for Posey County is happening on Saturday, November 7 at 10 am. On the new walk/run path at Brittlebank/Hagemann parks, at the one-half mile marker, a symbolic Elm tree will be planted.

The Elm tree during the Revolutionary War was symbolic of the fight for freedom from Great Britain. A marker and bench are being planned to be installed at a later date.

This is a project of the Posey County Historical Society and the D.A.R. General Thomas Posey Chapter.

Christmas Auction

St. Peter’s on the Hill, 2809 St. Phillips Road, will hold their annual Christmas auction on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 2 p.m., in the church basement. Lots of Christmas items, wreaths, and other items including fudge, breads, etc., will be auctioned. Light refreshments and babysitting will be offered. All money raised goes to helping others and missions. Come and enjoy a afternoon of fun.

Turkey Day Cookie Class

Petal and Patch and The Whimsy Whisk will hold a cookie decorating class on November 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 535 Church St. New Harmony. Call 812-682-7655 for more information and registration.

Saint Philip’s Bingo Night

All are invited to a bingo night at Saint Philip’s Church, 3420 St. Phillip Road, Mount Vernon on November 14. Doors open at 5. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Veterans Day Free Lunch

A Veterans Day free lunch will be served by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 5 in Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. An evening meal will also be served at 6 p.m.

Little Women-Fall Play

MVHS will perform Little Women as their fall play on November 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and November 14 at 2 p.m and 7 p.m.

Opening Reception Coleman Stevenson’s ‘Inhabited’

The New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art will have a reception to celebrate the opening of Coleman Stevenson’s Inhabited exhibit on November 14 from 3-6 p.m.

Craft and Bake Sale

Workingmans Institute Alzheimers Lecture Series

The Workingmans Institute will offer a lecture series on Brain Health and Alzheimers disease. Join us on Nov. 19 and Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. for a reception with an informative discussion of various aspects of Alzheimers disease beginning at 6:30.

Priority Enrollment Days Planned at Ivy Tech Community College

Priority Ivy Tech First Enrollment Days have been planned for the 2026-27 academic year at Ivy Tech Evansville. At these enrollment days, you can specifically receive one-on-one support with applying, registration, financial aid, and more – as well as connect with advisors and receive other resources.

The Tuesday events include:

• Oct. 13, 2026: Enrollment event for the fall 2 term (which begins 10/26/26) and for spring classes, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Dec. 22, 2026: Enrollment event dedicated to spring 2027 classes, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

• March 2, 2027: Enrollment event dedicated to the spring 2 term (which begins 3/15/27), 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
