Dorris Eugene Brandenstein

Dorris Eugene Brandenstein, 87, of Cynthiana, Ind., born June 27, 1939, to Henry and Elizabeth “Minnie” (Schweikhart) Brandenstein in Rapture, Ind., passed away, Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Ascension Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Cynthiana Masonic Lodge 710 and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his son: John D. Brandenstein (Trina); daughter: Patrizia Bruner (Bob); grandchildren: Brandy Will (Aaron), Jacob Brandenstein (Kate) and Josh Brandenstein (Madison) along with two great grandchildren Elliana and Jaxon.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Luisa Maria (Toniazzo) Brandenstein; brothers: Clarence, Harold Edward, Louis F. and Henry Brandenstein, Jr.; sisters: Anna Lou Hess, Mary Louise Neavill, Imogene Brown, Vera Mae Brown, Viola Carolie Bridges and Margaret Helen Brown Briggeler.

Masonic and Funeral services were held 12 p.m. noon, Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Werry Funeral Home in Poseyville, Ind., with burial to follow in Poseyville Cemetery in Poseyville, Ind.

Visitation was 10 a.m. until service time, Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the funeral home.
