David B. Mohr, 69, of Mount Vernon, passed away at his home on January 6, 2025. He was born on July 31, 1956, to Alfred and Aurelia (Goebel) Mohr. David spent his final week surrounded by loved ones, sharing memories and reminiscing with his children.
He is survived by his two children, Brandyn (Erin) Mohr and Alyssa (Jacob) McCullough; nine grandchildren, Brendyn Mohr, Madilyn Mohr, Izabelle Mohr, Avery Moore, Harper Moore, Kayla Moore, Janie McCullough, Jacob Moore, and Elijah McCullough; four siblings, Michael Mohr, Alan Mohr, Jeanette Head, and Carol Hordynski; along with several friends and beloved grandpups.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Mohr.
David grew up farming and never lost his connection to the land, often spending time watching the weather and observing the fields around him. He enjoyed being self-employed and valued the relationships he built over many years of seed cleaning. In addition to farming and seed cleaning, David enjoyed investing in the stock market, reading, playing solitaire, and collecting antiques.
In recent years, David took special joy in sharing his knowledge of canning and gardening with his son. He also traveled to Texas as often as possible to visit his daughter and her family. While there, they enjoyed visiting antique shops—experiences he spoke of often—as well as attending what he fondly referred to as the “largest gun show,” a favorite memory he loved to reminisce about.
Per David’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
